Survived!

Last year squirrels nibbled all the top roses off this bush, so I wasn’t very optimistic this year. There are so many squirrels about, I felt sure they would have made a meal of it again, but it seems to have survived and is putting on a good show. It is called Golden Showers and was here when we came to the house fifty-seven years ago. Mr Tibetts, who sold us the house, told me the names of all the roses, but I have forgotten most of them.
I have watered all the pots this afternoon. The weather is overcast and not very warm, but the pots were very dry.
We watched the commemoration service from Normandy this morning. It was very moving.
