Mmmmmm

I went out to work on a bit of wood I had put on the lathe yesterday.
SWMBO went out to the shops.
Did I get anything done? ............ No!
A neighbour (anther of the original occupants and the last in our courtyard) came over to ask me if I was interested in any of the wood from the furniture they had dismantled prior to new radiators and heating system going in. There were three large bits of laminated counter tops that are now in my garage. I have promised her a large fruit dish.
We ended up standing putting the world to rights for about an hour and a half.

After lunch I tried again and managed to turn the lump of wood into some sort of a bowl. Just the finish to put on it.

As the weather was holding up and the forecast isn't great for the next few days, I attacked some of the big  big hedge. Only 1 more bag of cuttings.

After that I fired off a complaint to the Council .... apparently when I go to the tip recycling depot for my allotted 30minute slot, I am not allowed to dump the stuff, go home, get some more and return (despite staying 2 minutes away). I am allowed to go in and sit in my car for the 30 minutes .... but not return.  There is absolutely no logical reason to it.
I have no idea if my e-mail has gone through - because their useless website has no automatic response built in ... it takes a real person to do that (when they get round to it...if at all).

I haven't taken any pictures today - apart from the delicious dates we brought back from Morocco, in what has become my 'date bowl' when We sat down for a cuppa mid afternoon.
