Cruise and blues

So much for watering all my pots and the shrubs on the bank above the house last night. It rained during the night! An overcast and drizzly day today, so different from yesterday.

I walked down town for a 1pm appointment at the dentist. I had phoned on Friday to tell them that I had a foul cough and cold, but the receptionist told me not to worry, but to come anyway. I was explaining this to the dentist and she said that if it was OK with me it was OK with her, but then I had a major coughing fit and my appointment was postponed!

On the way back I spotted this cruise ship down at the North Pier. 'Hebridean Sky' is a regular visitor to Oban - she specialises in cruises to the Arctic and various northern islands and ports.

I was just approaching my garage and about to walk up the steps when  a neighbour came by and commented on my meconopsis. 'Which meconopsis?', I asked. She pointed to a single blue flower on the bank. A friend gave me this plant at the Rhododendron Show last year and I couldn't remember what I'd done with it! I think it might be Meconopsis grandis. My extra today.
