Her-on her Nest!
It was the older girls Sports Day today.
Both parents were working so it was grandparents to the fore.
They split the school into two for the event and so we were there for the whole morning. They do mini-sports, also called potted sports where they move round a number of activities.
It started both times, with the P7 house captains leading a warm up.
The girls both did well. There's lots of emphasis on team work and supporting each other. They are earning points for their house not for themselves. A lot of fun.
I was charged with counting the scores for Isobel's team as we went round. They were very focused. I was very impressed with her teacher, both her manner and her own enthusiasm in encouraging the children.
Next year they'll both be taking part at the same time. We'll need to split our favours and do one child each!
We had coffee and a roll in Two Children afterwards. Once again it was very good. It's a nice place to sit too.
This afternoon we booked our next adventure to go and visit friends at the end of July. On our way back to the car we walked through Inverleith Park by the pond. The heron was standing on its(empty) nest and looking very elegant-and silent in spite of appearances.
