French Lavender

Today was warm but dull. I could not believe that May and this spring has been declared the warmest on record - that doesn't seem right as I can remember far warmer and better springs in previous years. It has also been one of the wettest though.

A usual Monday morning of chores - laundry, groceries and I managed two long walks for Xena today. I also framed my mounted images for the camera club exhibition that starts tomorrow evening, I will be hanging them in the morning.

I was surprised from my blip yesterday that no one knew what a Gunners drink was, I thought it was a commonly known drink. In South Africa they do a similar version of the drink and it is called a Rock Shandy - when we were in Namibia they also served Rock Shandies wherever we went (must be a southern African drink). I usually only drink sparkling water but when you are very hot and very thirsty there is nothing like a Gunners to quench your thirst!

I wandered around our garden checking on the newly planted plants, there are only a handful of them but they do fill a gap. This is one of two French lavender we bought, the rest of the lavender is the English (hidcote) variety.

Tommy got some very exciting news today but more about that tomorrow....
