The Lozarithm Lens

The Old Forge (Saturday 1st June 2024)

This sadly deceased giant insect turned up in the bathroom on Friday during the plumbing and floor renovations. I'm guessing some kind of hawk moth.

P.S. A privet hawk moth. Thanks, Terrifo.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Can - Cuxhaven 76 Drei (recorded live, 7 January 1976, Kugelbake-halle, Cuxhaven, Lower Saxony, Germany)
The covermount that came with the June edition of Uncut contained over 70 minutes of live music by the group Can, curated by their keyboard player Irmin Schmidt, all taken from archived concerts recently released on double CDs. It reached my CD player on this afternoon.
All of the music was improvised, stemming from the basic structure of songs released on their studio albums. In this case a speeded-up version of Dizzy Dizzy, originally from Soon Over Babaluma, performed at a venue near Hamburg, quickly changed into something else. Some of the tracks in the five-album series (so far) were recorded by members of the audience holding cassette recorders in the air and have long been available on bootlegs, but have been vastly improved by modern technology for these official releases.
