Celebration

Getting on for thirteen years ago, these two good people got married, and it was my 365th blip.

It was a glorious day for their combined 40th birthday party at Saughtonhall Rec, and many of the adults were glad of the gazebos casting shade. I wouldn't have wanted to be out in the sun all afternoon. I would have gone very pink. It was lovely to be there for P and R's celebration, but a degree of bitter sweetness as both of R's parents have died since the wedding, her mum just this year. We were very fond of them both and we had a memorable stay with them in Hamburg later on in 2011, which we hoped would be the first of many. Sadly, it was not to be. Anyway, good to catch up with a few people whom I knew at the party. And the e-bike proved an excellent form of transport to the party, as I was able to get there and back almost exclusively on off-road paths and very quiet roads, including part of the new Roseburn path.

Earlier, I'd popped to Ocean Terminal for Mr A's prescription, and across to the market where I had a coffee with meles and picked up a single pie from the dolly and some shopping at the supermarket right opposite. I've been doing washing all day, taking advantage of the excellent weather to get various things, including our mattress cover, dry by sneaking them out on the balcony.
