Finally, back in the Burgh. I slept well at SW's last night, although I was a bit wheezy because of her cats. My eyes are also a bit sore. I could probably never manage more than one night. But it passes, although the eye discomfort stays longer.
In the morning, I finally managed to get on to SW's wifi network, so rather than leaving straight after breakfast, I worked for a few hours in her "spare office" (a room is set up for visitors to work - nice!), before walking over to Northfields Station (one of the excellent modernist tube stations) to sit on an overfull Piccadilly line train which had obviously come from Heathrow (see huge quantities of luggage), all the way to KGX.
KGX was also stuffed, as was the first class lounge, and as was the train itself, although I managed to manoeuvre myself a bit of space and privacy, rather than sharing a table all the way to York with three American tourists. Waverley was busy as well, so I headed to M&S Simply Food for a few supplies and went out the back of the station. Checking the bus app, it appeared that the best option was a Number 10 to right outside the flat, so I was home by 6pm.
After an exhausting week, I was very early to bed indeed.
