Wound up in Wexford

Strimming

The daffodils have long since finished flowering.  The grass in the areas protected from Husky was getting very long, and so, although the daffodil leaves were not quite fully died back, we decided today was the day to open up the two triangles, cut down the grass to a level he can cope with, and allow Husky free rein of the whole front lawn.

W strimmed, I raked.  Then with the worst of the long grass cleared, W mowed.  Now we have brown triangles, but I'm sure they'll soon green up.

In the autumn, we'll plant more bulbs, extending the area with bulbs planted, but I think we maybe need to devise a better method of keeping at least some control of the grass whilst they are flowering and then dying back.

W then cleared the long grass around all the rest of the trees with clippers, whilst I planted some pelargonium and allyssum around the pond edge.  A good day's work in the garden.

Tomorrow we're going on a "garden centre crawl"!  Hope we manage not to spend too much money, but don't bank on it.
