Gently down the stream

Black-headed gull

I took this shot on the Town Quay at Lymington this morning, before the sun disappeared.  I didn't mind the grey, but have to say the wind was rather cold and generally quite trying.  Blipping birds is certainly more of a challenge with the new camera because it simply doesn't have the reach of the Fuji - but I'm just going to have to try harder, aren't I  ;))

Did I enjoy myself?  Yes, of course.  It's my happy place, and although it was half-term even the Quay wasn't packed with people, while the sea wall was only inhabited by birders and a few dog walkers.  The tide was right out, but there were oyster catchers, as well as avocets and redshanks, egrets and geese and most of them with young.

The trains were less attractive and mostly late, but I managed!

Hope your day's been a good one.  And have a great weekend  xx
