Abstract Thursday - Colourful

After yesterday’s lovely retreat day I slept even more soundly than ever. When I arrived at church for the Thursday service, I found that everyone else slept very well too. We’ll definitely do another one when we can.

After lunch, Natalie from the local interiors shop arrived to measure up the front windows and do a quote for venetian blinds. I happen to know her Mum Elaine, who was a regular churchgoer at St Luke’s until a few years ago when she moved north.

Later, a quick salad for tea then clear up and pack for a few days at the flat. I set off at 8.25pm, and arrived at 9.50pm - not too bad considering most of the 40-mile section of M25 that I use has one lane closed for roadworks and a speed limit of 50mph. Mile upon mile upon mile of cones and not a bit of work going on for the most part. It’s due to be completed in spring 2025, so I’m stuck with it now. Great.

A gentleman from Clarks Removals is coming at 10am tomorrow to survey all my goods and chattels and do a quote, then I’m going to drop off some documents at my conveyancing solicitors in Amersham and some donations at a charity shop. The day will be rounded off with our Chesham book club meeting at Sarah’s. Off now to read the second half of the book!!!

Many thanks to Ingeborg for hosting the Abstract Thursday challenge, with the optional theme of ‘Colourful’. My colourful contribution is derived from a plateful of pretend fruit and glass objects which Mum put together many years ago - she absolutely loved things that were made of glass. Not sure yet if I will keep any or all of it, but have taken a photo for posterity anyway (see Extra).
