Amazing Aunt

Drove up to the Peak District today to visit my Mum's twin (and only*) sister, still going strong ten years after my Mum died, and more than that since she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. We ruminated on why the difference - genes or lifestyle??

In the photo, my oldest cousin, Ruth, and my brother, who'd not seen our aunt since my Mum's funeral.

A Helen had several family albums for us to look through. In the extra, one I loved of the twins (my Mum on the right) and their parents on holiday in Weston-Super-Mare. How smart they look. She said it would have been taken by a photographer, who would then develop it in a cubicle and have it ready for them to look at and decide whether to buy. My grandad did take a lot of photos himself as well, though.

* My grandmother had a baby before the twins, who she think died a cot death, she's not sure, as her parents never talked about it.

Gratefuls:
- Mike being the driver and taking us
- the bonus of seeing Ruth and John, as well as A Helen
- Paul and Felicity cooking us all a lovely meal when we got home
