3438. Giant Poppy

Out for a short walk this morning before the rain starts…spotted these lovely giant bright red poppies in a garden I walked past.  They are huge and so vibrant.

Been a day of sorting things out and so far everything has worked out as it should.

My friend had another appointment with her surgeon today after a terrible pre med appointment yesterday which they completely messed up.  But…today’s was fine and she’s gearing up for her surgery in less than two weeks…still a very long journey but at least it’s started after an unnecessary 4 week delay due to NHS incompetence.  I don’t recognise this NHS as it’s not the one I worked for, for 35 years…I don’t know what’s going on.

I phoned Boots Hearing Care about my failing hearing aids and they have totally acknowledged what they promised and I should get some loan aids this week and hopefully a totally new pair next week, I can’t complain about that and I’m relieved that it’s getting sorted, I just wish I hadn’t had to put up with this on 4 consecutive occasions for them to do this, I will need to be more persistent in future and not just accept a wait and see approach.  It’s so hard to cope without my aids now and it can be extremely isolating.

My youngest is finally getting to find out some information about his start date and time, they seem to have taken forever to get back to him but he should hear this week, well he’ll have to as he starts next Monday!

Finally just had a message from my dear friends up North to say that her husband is to continue with his chemo for now which they weren’t expecting after the “Do not resuscitate” discussion when he was back in hospital recently.  They were expecting to be told that all treatment would stop and that he would palliative from now on….so continuing his treatment seems to be a good thing.

What a day, not done much but plenty going on!
