Four-Spotted Chaser

After a swim at the outdoor pool, we decided to brave the Bank Holiday showers and head to the Avalon Marshes with Chris for a sausage and egg bap at the cafe and a walk along the river.

There were plenty of dragonflies about, including this Four-Spotted Chaser (I think) which posed obligingly in the wet grass, a family of swans with 6 cygnets (two are hidden by the adults) and a harassed-looking mother duck with 13 ducklings in tow (see extras).

Add a couple of large egrets, one fishing, one in flight, and a fleeting glimpse of what might have been a hobby and it made for an entertaining walk.
