A view from Jeanneb

In the hot sun…

…before the rain.

Spent a lot of the day waiting for Grace and John to return from Bristol. They rang last night saying that it seemed sense to find a hotel room last night instead of spending £70 on a taxi home.
We agreed and it made very little difference to us with the girls.

The problem was John has acquired a back injury from the dance floor! He found this morning that he could barely move. They found somewhere nearby and central to get some breakfast so that Chris could drive over to Bristol to pick them up.

I had put some washing on as it was a glorious sunny and quite hot morning, albeit with quite a strong wind. Sitting out waiting for it to finish I spotted the flowers on this Yucca. I’ve blipped them before and really like them against the sunny sky.
It grows outdoors and casts a pretty shadow over the terrace which Jengi the cat seems to like - extra.
I put the duvet cover out on the line and almost immediately the dark clouds rolled in. The showers are quite short but very heavy. I’ve had the cover out twice and have given up now though is warm and sunny again now.

The girls have built using the magnetic tiles Alex got them fir Christmas, played games, watched some TV and had some screen time.
Gave the girls some lunch and then they got out some things to play with.  I was made Queen of the butterflies!

We’ve just been on the terrace to plant some pumpkin seeds. Both girls watered them - extra 2. It’s a little kit I got in M & S so it’s now wait and see. Eda wanted to plant some apple seeds too so we gave that job to Boppa.

Hope John is on the mend soon as he’s back at work tomorrow, luckily Grace isn’t.

The plant has been correctly identified by blipper TML as CORDYLINE australis or CABBAGE PALM. Not a Yucca. Also just noticed I blipped it exactly two years ago and called it Cordyline flower.
