Saxifraga 'Francis Cade'

In full and glorious flower right now - extra pic for the whole plant.  It's only a young plant and will hopefully make multiple flower stems in years to come.  One of the so called Silver Saxifrages, it's a hybrid of cultivation, possibly originating as long ago as 1912 although not named until 1937.  These facts and much more information gleaned from a book written by a now departed friend, Beryl Bland.  First met on a flower holiday in the Pyrenees, I was lucky enough to visit her and her husband in Goosenargh where she grew the National Collection of Silver Saxifrages.

A work day up at Aber Cafe but a quiet one to start the holiday week.  Hopefully not a sign of things to come.   Fortunately this meant I finished early, leaving me some pottery time before an evening at Rhydyronen with J,J & J and  Meg and Bella of course - second extra :-)
