A Day Off

I only realised when watching Breakfast TV this morning that it was the FA Cup Final today (I’ve no interest in football whatsoever). This would mean that, as well as the Bank Holiday weekend traffic, there would be hordes of footie fans on the M25 too, as Wembley can be easily accessed from the bit I use. So I pulled the plug on going to the flat this weekend, and am now spending the time doing some more clearing at the bungalow. The aim is to have emptied out the dark wood desk, dresser and hostess trolley by the end of Monday ready to dispose of, plus anything else I can get done ready for the move. The change of plan necessitated a trip to Sainsbury’s this morning for a bigger grocery shop. I entirely forgot about the Ride London cycling event going through this area today, and got stuck in horrendous traffic there and back. Traffic jams due to sports fixtures were obviously my fate today no matter what I did.

I’m not overly sure what this blossom is, but it might be Bitter Cherry. There are bright red berries on the shrub in autumn, so it’s a possibility. I’m now trying to stir up some enthusiasm to crack on, but failing miserably now I’ve sat down with a cuppa. Oh well, it won’t hurt to have a break for one afternoon!
