Dry at Last
After 48 hours of constant rain in Edinburgh, rivers bursting their banks, roads impassable, parks flooded, the weather gods relented, the rain stopped about lunch time and the city began to dry up. Not that the sun came out to cheer us up, no it just brightened up slightly and the haar retreated. We poor sodden citizens are just grateful for small mercies.
I had a brunch get together in the Ivy this morning with HL’s erstwhile Cancer Nurse Practitioner and as usual we had a joyful 2 hours of laughter and gossip. It is lovely to still have that connection to Sandy.
It being Friday again, I’m biding my time before I meet my neighbours for our TGIF drinks. How quickly the weeks fly by when you’re having fun!
