Busy Weekend

Finally we have sunshine but it took its time appearing today and we still have an east wind. Apart from it being the English Bank Holiday, it is also the Edinburgh Marathon weekend which means the city is at bursting point. There are people walking around with medals proudly to the fore having already done the 10k and 5K runs in Holyrood park and many other  lithe looking people who exude the air of being the participants in tomorrow’s full Marathon and Half Marathon Races  both of which start within 500yds of the DowerHouse and go down the coast to Longniddry turning back to end in Musselburgh. It’s a very quick route as it’s down hill to start with and flat most of the way. I just hope it’s not too hot or, as happened once, the water stations run out of water.

The roads outside are lined with no parking cones although this car had decided to flout the ban on the basis that it matched the cone in colour.
