Steam Railway 1940s Weekend.

Today was the first day of the Steam Railway 1940s Experience when the main station and show ground go back in time to the wartime years with displays of vehicles ,a complete Spitfire, street scenes,and even food of the era such as Spam Fritters.

There are re enactments by military personel and the Home Guard and music of the period complete with jitterbug dancing. Children some dressed in 40's clothes can go on the fairground Amusements and see a Punch and Judy show.

Visitors are encouraged to come dressed in the fashions of the day and enter into the spirit of the event with enthusiasm.
