Day 26 Camino San Martín to Astorga

The road was windy and dusty. A better day today. Although we walked around 24km, we were not trekking by a busy road. We opted to take a slightly more scenic route which went up into the low hills. A bit longer but it avoided asphalt so I’m not complaining. My knee was in better shape today and transporting the rucksack has hopefully made a difference. I felt a bit of a fraud but needs must and all that. I took painkillers in the afternoon so I will try the same combination tomorrow. The true test will be when we go up into the mountains. We could see snow on the tops so we are anticipating cold weather. I’m hoping my new wool gloves will help keep the chill away whilst I use the poles.
