Day 27 Astorga to Rabanal del Camino

A pretty good day on our Camino. Slight uphill and pretty countryside with views to the mountain range we will be crossing soon. Knee seems to be holding well and the painkillers doing their job. We are in a ‘donativo’ hostel tonight in a shared dorm. I thi n this is the 3rd we’ve stayed at. The last one I was roped into cutting tomatoes for our shared meal. This one has no food so going out.
There is some sort of service and blessing from a small community of Benedictine monks from Germany. Currently writing this as I sit next to a roaring fire in a lounge area. Despite some sunshine, it is still pretty cold and I’m glad I brought my gloves from Burgos.
As you can see from todays blip, 250km to go. Whoppee!
