Out with Mother
As arranged with her yesterday, we collected my Mother early this morning, and took her to Hillier's Gardens for the day. I have to credit my blip shot to a kind passer by who offered to take our photo. My mother looks as if she is gripping my arm for dear life. I suppose it's because we had put her rollator to one side!
We were delighted to discover it was Gurkha Day at the gardens, when members of the Nepalese community come to pay their respects at the Chautara (the Ghurka memorial ) , admire the Rhododendrons (the Nepalese national flower) and enjoy traditional music and dancing, many dressed in national costume. See the extra for a view of the band which played at the Chautara. Ghurka day
