Paeony

Another beautiful day. We spent the morning in the garden working on our new border: weeding, putting up supports for a clematis, and planning  positions for new plants,( all the while supervising a very lively tortoise). The Paeony already established in the border is just beginning to bloom. I really enjoyed  the scent of this flower while I was weeding close by.
We saw the first few Swifts flying high overhead, which is always a lovely sight.
In the afternoon, I visited my Mother and arranged to take her out tomorrow.
