Petanque

We were awake at 5.30 am as we had another 4 hour round trip to take Rachel, Scott & Scarlett to Nice airport. The traffic was quite heavy once we got to Cannes and was slow moving all the way to Nice, but we got them there with an hour to spare. Luckily by the time we set off back home the rush hour traffic had gone and we had an easy journey

We had lunch and then took Louis for a walk into town - I've been wanting to blip the bandstand as I think it's a lovely structure, and have taken numerous photos of it throughout the holiday but have always blipped something else. Luckily there was a Petanque tournament on, and this scene is so typically French with the spectators sat under the palm trees for shade. It was worth the wait, as I've now got two blips in one - the bandstand and the game of petanque which I've also been trying to blip. Take a closer look to see if you can spot the Boule.

We decided we'd go back into town for one final dinner tonight, as we head to the Ardeche tomorrow, so went back to the apartment and did some packing. We're not planning to leave until lunch time, but it'll give us more time in the morning.

Vincent from one of the local bars invited us back for a drink on the house, so we went for apero. The weather really seems to be warming up now, and there seems to be more people around so it was very busy in town and there was a nice atmosphere. We stayed there longer than planned and only ended up going for something to eat about 9.30pm, but we went back to a favourite restaurant of ours and had a lovely meal.

By the time we got home it was 11.30pm and we went straight to bed as it was a long day - hence the late blip!
