Daddy's Girl

This morning was cloudy and quite cool so Alan & I got up early and set off for the coastal walk over the Calanques that we wanted to do last week. It's a lovely walk but there's some very steep climbs and it's very rugged, so I brought my nordic walking sticks with me which were very useful.

It started to rain before we'd gone half way, but fortunately we'd taken little waterproof jackets with us so we were fine. We kept walking and came to the Calanque d'Alon where there was a little secluded beach with a cafe. We decided to stop here and have a drink and shelter from the rain which was quite heavy at this point, but there were no tables inside, and the terrace was only covered in a bamboo roof so the rain was coming straight through. It all added to the adventure though, and we sat looking out to see have a coke and a coffee in the rain!

The rain didn't stop so we turned round and headed home and were surprised to see we'd done 12 kms. I took some lovely photos on our walk, but as Rachel, Scott & Scarlett fly home tomorrow, I wanted to blip Scarlett today.

The sun finally came out this afternoon, so after lunch we all walked into town and stopped to have a drink while Scarlett had her milk. I got my camera out to take some photos of her, but I'd taken my battery out to recharge it, and hadn't put the spare one in! Luckily Alan had his camera with him, and I love this photo of her having a cuddle with her Daddy. I had planned to blip her in her paddling pool tonight, but unfortunately it's too cold.

Anyway, I'd better get the food ready as we're having a BBQ on the terrace and an early night as we have to leave at 6.30am tomorrow to take them to the airport. We've had a great week with them all, and look forward to seeing them when they come to visit us in Brighton next month :-)
