Railway Dereliction

I took a short walk along the canal today near Bisley. The Bisley Camp Branch Railway, opened in 1890,  served the military camps at Bisley, Deepcut and Blackdown during the world wars. It was also opened annually for the National Rifle Association's AGM and championships before finally closing around 1952. The image shows part of the remains of the iron columns and brick abutments which mark the site where the line once crossed the canal via an iron-girder bridge which was demolished in 1979.
