This morning we had our first swim in the outdoor pool, which opened for the new season yesterday. Lovely and warm in, not so getting out!

We also managed our first BBQ of the year, as tradition dictates on May Bank Holiday weekend, despite the showers which saw me sheltering under an umbrella while cooking! Chris, Kate, Joel and Sophie joined us, of course, and we had a very sociable afternoon even if we did have to eat inside.

I caught the end of the National League Play Off Final which saw Bromley, the home town team I supported as a boy win promotion to League 2 for the first time in their 130 plus years’ history. Really pleased for them, especially as they have 3 ex-Yeovil players in their side who all played important parts in their victory. 

The only downside is Yeovil won’t get to play them in the National League next season so no away trips down memory lane for me.

We had an early evening walk where the light was struggling gamely with the clouds behind this dead tree.
