Slimbridge Shorty

A grey day with very low cloud, and I didn't really think I'd see much at WWT Slimbridge. 

However, the summer walkway opened recently and perhaps the birds that have spent the winter without the nuisance of noisy humans are still willing to be photographed.

It was a surprise to find this short eared owl out hunting the riverbank. The far bank is obscured but clearly I'm not. A bit of eye contact and, satisfied I posed no threat, onwards for supper.

Fingers crossed for tomorrow, folks. Strong winds and heavy rain is forecast, but Janet will be dry and warm and hopefully fully fixed.
