Green and wet
It rained last night and was still raining softly this morning. When we walked Xena in the woods everything was looking such a vibrant green, the new spring leaves are a very bright green and when wet it seems to intensify their colour. It was about 8C all morning, and yet tomorrow it is forecast to be 18C and sunny - such bizarre weather at the moment, so inconsistent.
Gavin and I went to get groceries as I am fed up with Waitrose having low stock levels on a Monday, so I got everything today as we have friends coming for supper tomorrow night and I did not want to risk not being able to buy what I needed for my menu. The friends are from South Africa and are only here for a couple of days so we did not have much choice in choosing a suitable date for dinner. I also have a camera club competition tomorrow night, but as it is on zoom I am going to attempt to host dinner and zoom in, talk about multi tasking, haha!
We went out to a local Italian restaurant for lunch, their food is very homely and delicious, I had swordfish while Gavin had saltimbocca.
It has stopped raining and the sun is coming out, I believe the week ahead will be better - it's about time!
