Yellow hammers

We’ve come to Whitby for a long weekend. We are staying on Monks Farm, up above Whitby with a fabulous view of the Abbey from our caravan.

Lovely sunshine this afternoon but a very cold wind. I spotted some yellow birds picking up food the sheep had missed so grabbed my camera.

So excited as I don’t think I have ever knowingly seen yellow hammers before! Couldn’t decide between the two solo shots, and just had to add the one with three birds on it - which I hadn’t realised till I studied the photo.

I don’t think I’ll need to move from the caravan all weekend now!
