Landing briefly on our feet
We got about 80 per cent of our stuff into the barn today, including pretty much all the big furniture. We're exhausted and pretty depressed and there's still plenty more to pack up and clear out. We have too much stuff, mostly books.
Our next door neighbours have let us use their holiday cottage for a couple of weeks. They have always been real friends to us - and extra 'grandparents' to our son - since we moved here and their kindness to us now is typical. Problem is they're selling up and moving out in the next three weeks or so. We've sent a request to the new owners to rent the cottage for longer, but we don't know what their plans for it are, so they may not be able to. We'll see.
The boy loves it here. He's completely at home in 'grandma's' beautifully kept garden, and spent an excited hour playing with their dogs who he loves, and they love him back. He is snoring happily right now. Mummy and daddy will not sleep so well.
