Owl poo
This is where we're storing all our stuff while we have our house rebuilt. Sorry about the ugly car in the foreground, but we're just about to unload the first boxes into the space behind it.
The barn is an old threshing barn, next to the most beautiful (and enormous) 17th century farmhouse you could ever wish for. Until a couple of years ago, there was a fairly large dairy farm operating here, but the farmer was ready to retire. He sold most of the land off to neighbours and the house, along with about 11 acres, was bought by someone very rich but, as our situation attests, very generous. Our builder, who also worked on the farm, told the owner about our predicament and he put his barn at our disposal. The barn could fit our entire house in it about twice over. It has owls living in it and is full of owl shit, against which we have deployed tarpaulin sheets. The barn is dry with a concrete floor. It will do us very nicely.
