Cork
Cork Oaks line this rather rough road to the Cromlech at Almendres; I was keen not to damage our hire car so the drive of 2 ½ miles took around 30 minutes. The scenery was very attractive, Cork Oaks as far as the eye could see and the only sounds were insects and birds – not many tourists braving the track.
The Alentejo region of Portugal is apparently the hottest in the country, but at the moment it's around 26ºC with lush vegetation everywhere – very comfortable.
