They’re here!

Sarah and Chris are running in an event called Cymoedd Sir Fynwy, 50 miles in a figure of 8. The top loop is 30 miles and is north of here, the bottom loop of 20 miles runs around Blorenge, to the south. The crux of the 8 is an old tunnel running under the canal and emerging next to our cottage!

They started at 10 this morning and we followed them on a tracker. When they came out of the tunnel after 30 miles, we were waiting with snacks, drinks and spare shoes. They looked pretty fresh, I must say, and at this point were 4th and 5th on the leaderboard.

I hope to be there again in a few hours’ time when they return. The finish is back at Abergavenny.

Luke, Maria and I walked up and around Blorenge this morning with the dogs. It was pretty steep! Then I walked into Abergavenny for some shopping, so I’ve done almost 9 miles. Abergavenny has a really vibrant high street, full of very interesting shops.

Luke and Maria cooked tea, which we ate outside, and now they’re out in the kayak :-)
