Mildness

I took Merlin in a long walk this morning and dared to go into the meadow. It’s like what I imagine it would be to walk in a paddy field. We returned very muddy. Merlin wasn’t impressed with the thorough wash he had to endure standing on the patio. Much to his surprise, there hasn’t been any lasting damage.

It’s been a steadily busy day of sorting the house out after the boiler installation - dust, dirt and general upheaval needed dealing with. The new thermostat unit was also installed and is working as anticipated.

The weather today has been mild but breezy - 15 degrees. I’ve put the aubergine plants outside in the cold-frame as it’s going to be very mild for a few days. I’ll bring them back in when it gets cooler.

- To have a warm bath this evening - I thought I’d test the new boiler!
- To receive this dragonfly made by a lady who creates mosaics made from old china, pottery and glass.
- To see two bluetits on the new bird feeder in the garden.
