Epic Day

One of the finest days I've ever had in Iceland. Sunshine wall to wall from start to finish. Early start for breakfast and packed lunch. Plenty of coffee. Out to Hvolsvollur and the Lava Centre first. Coffee with the driver. Always goes down well. Along the coast road and the landscape was amazing in the light. To Skogafoss. Group went up the steps. Along to the black sand beach at Reynisfjara, then back to the glacier at Solheimajökull. We went up on the glacier with Icelandic Mountain Guides this time and went well up onto the plateau below Katla. Awesome light again on the ice. Had a Bónus stop in a supermarket for snacks. And after that the image is of an old shop in Eyrarbakki, because the light was lovely. Great food and the evening to myself, aurora spotting with a few beers... not a bad way to earn a little extra money.
