Back in Smoky town

An early get up - parked up and shuttle bus to terminal for earlyish flight to Keflavik. Terminal building a little small compared to Stansted etc.. Got sorted and had an OK flight with EasyJet. Last half an hour was an awesome trip along the south coast of Iceland with ice caps and glaciers visible and then the volcano. Landed, and then had quite a long time to wait in the airport. Took a wander and coffee and pastry, then finally met the group. The weather was glorious sunshine. Very friendly group and down in the sun to the city, and to Perlan. Spent a few hours in there. Ice cream and exhibitions. A lovely show on the aurora. Out and walked the group down through the city from Hallgrimskirkja to the harbour and they had free time. Wandered in the sun - such a change from the pouring rain of 2 weeks ago. Had a very nice meal in the Hard Rock Cafe - perfect location for our group - some good memorabilia around the walls. Miro, our coach driver then took us up over the hill and down to our hostel at Eyrarbakki - late check in and had lovely apartment.
