World Theatre Day
Today has been World Theatre Day, and to mark the occasion some of the residents at my mum's care home read/performed a small part of JB Priestley's play, "When we are Married" which they have been reading together over the past month or so. Here is my Mum, "in character" ,as the formidable Maria Helliwell. It was great fun for other residents, staff and visitors to watch them in action. Amazingly, my mum was able to follow the script perfectly, come in on time, and speak her words with real feeling, (yet later she kept asking me what day it was, and what time supper was being served). The next production being planned is "Arsenic and Old Lace".
Uke class earlier and Uke Jam this evening made for a full day, at least for us retirees!
