Magnolia
I woke to the sound of the birds singing. I put on the Merlin App and was surprised at the variety of birds. The usual ones including blackbird, Robin, wren and then nuthatch , green woodpecker and black redstart ::)
After breakfast we went to ‘my Dads’. We had fixed the plaque which was damaged last time we were there. Mum had some primroses to plant. It was looking nice with the daffodils out :)
We found a lovely pub The Alma in Painters Forstal near Faversham. We really liked it. Nice and cosy. Again we were surprised how busy it was, maybe because a lot of places are closed on a Monday. Mike and myself had sizzling chicken with a jacket potato and salad, Mum had fish pie and David had steak and kidney suet pudding. All very good.
The sun had been out earlier. We had a look at Oare marshes but decided it was too cold and blowy for a walk. There were quite a few people clearing brambles and reeds so I do not think there would be many birds anyway.
We did go for a walk round this grade 2 listed church, St Peters and Paul’s , Ospringe. The magnolia tree was amazing. It’s been a good year for them.
