Taking Mum out
We had a fairly good nights sleep. Managed to turn the radiator down as the room was way to hot for us. Could not have a shower as the bath was too high and the sink covered most of the side so could not swing my leg over. I think we’ll need to start looking at accessible rooms.
I had trouble getting of the plane yesterday as well. We went to the back steps but there was at least a two foot step down which I could not do so we went to the front which was much easier. The Air hostess said it was not right and she would make a note about it.
We had a delicious breakfast. So much choice from a cooked buffet to cold fish, cheeses and meats. There was banana bread, chocolate muffins, fresh fruit, yogurt etc, etc.
We went to Mums. Pete managed to get her a lovely Rocking chair and now the net curtains are down she can sit and look at the garden. That’s the next big project as it’s quite over grown and it gets flooded so she has to wear wellies to peg the washing out !
We went to a garden centre and enjoyed lunch. Mum and Mike had leek and potato soup , which she had not had before and David and myself had bacon,Brie and cranberry ciabatta , very good :)
We had a wander round the garden Centre. Mum liked a scarf so we treated her to that as a late Mothers Day present.
On to St Albans park for a walk. The flooding was bad and areas sectioned off. It was cloudy but dry, better than we were expecting.
Back to Mums and then on to the Premier Inn in Rickmansworth. A rest watching the Rugby and a quick shower before heading out to meet Jill and Pete at The Feathers it was pouring with rain by now. We waited in the garden, under cover until our table was ready.Another tasty meal. I had sausage and mash. It was very noisy though so hard to hear each other speak. We’re not used to going out lol.
