Cockpit Theatre
My first visit to a theatre since before March 2020.
Whilst J was in Whiston hospital in the early part of last year, I got to know the café at the Shakespeare North Playhouse. It was within walking distance, and was quiet and felt safe. I always promised I would return one day to watch a performance, and today was the day. A matinee performance of Phillipa Gregory’s “Richard, My Richard” - the Richard in question being Richard III, the last Plantagenet king. I enjoyed it, and good to see a near capacity audience.
Mixed emotions revisiting Prescot and driving past the hospital as I headed home.
