Warming Up

A chores day today. However, as it was sunny and dry - a rare combination recently - I first walked via the nearby business park to Risley Moss and then returned on a different route.

I passed this bumble bee resting on top of a newly cut tree stump. I think she is trying to warm up in the sunshine so she can take to the air. The Queens are prospecting for nest sites at this time of year.
