Folkestone Harbour
In a bid to prevent a further day in limbo we made the decision to drive down to Folkestone after visiting Doreen.
It was partly successful in that we had a splendid lunch at The British Lion at The Bayne. Unexpectedly good boozy beef stew cooked in Guinness without pastry and with lots of vegetables and a few potatoes. The others had excellent fish and chips and home made lasagne. A good find indeed.
An excellent coffee was had at Steep Street Cafe on the Old High Street’s Creative Quarter. What a place. Lined with books with chalk to draw on the table.
Those made the trip. The weather let us down. We were looking for a day like yesterday. What we got was a haar, cold wind and grey, grey, grey.
Even the tide had gone out in protest and dispair.
