I'd say I had spring fever
We had so much to do today.
Nuts to go to the Garage, for the old car.
A jar of Change to take to the Supermarket.
Library; to drop off and Pick up.
Post office, to return.
Allotment to get some dahlias planted
Shopping - to stock up for the week.
Halfords. for shiny lovely things for the new car.
It was hard to get going. I had a bit of a rough night - Up and down to the toilet. I think maybe a take-out hadn't been such a good idea for dinner.
It started immediately after and continued through the night.
I didn't do breakfast, in the hope of keeping things quiet.
We headed to Irvine first, dropped the nuts, confirmed that , Yes we do love the new car. I did glance around see if the old car was there, but it wasn't. And weirdly it didn't bother me that much.
Then to Halfords. which wasn't there any more, so we went to
Sainsbury, exchanged our cash at the coin machine and Himself bought 2 pairs of trousers and I bought, Soy Sauce.
Then to the Allotment.
New People in the patch next door, we told them what a fruitful plot they had and not to be disheartened by the amount of work they had to do. Taff who had the plot before them, had been a great gardner - always telling us what we were doing wrong when we could be doing what he did and reaping the benefits. Then he had two awful losses in his life. and whilst the Allotment was an escape from the awful reality, he started to lose interest and focus.
It's barely been touched for 18 months, and the wood in the beds is rotted through. They have a stack of work to do.
But Look look. Blossom on the Plum tree. It's happening folks, It is happening. Spring is on the way.
After the allotment Himself jumped at the post office (where he witnessed a 70+ lady, introducing the post office manager to her "new partner", and how best could she transfer money onto a cash card for him to use? Her new partner was at least 40 if not 50 years younger than her and was dressed in a tracksuit, hoodup, raggety beard, down to his chest) , which was a tad different from her conservative twin set and pearls outfit. )
Himself said she was obviously delighted with herself, and thought that everyone else was exceptionally pleased for her fortune at landing such a handsome young man.
You have to wonder. I hope we are all wrong in our first thoughts.
Then it was the library, where I collected my latest book - I was astounded to realise that the author of the book i read last week, was a chap who had been in my Banking Exams class. He so wasn't cut out for Banking (as it turned out neither was I) , but a writer, of mysteries. Who would have thunk!
I'm delighted that he has written several. So that should occupy me for a while.
Then Shopping. By this time I was wilting.
I hung on to the trolly with a fear of falling, and leaned through the whole shop. I found the seat (which I blipped a few weeks ago) which has been placed "In case you need a rest", and I rested while Himself went backward to collect everything we had forgotten.
Then it was home.
A sandwich for lunch, yes!!! it was only 2 by the time we had done ALL OF THE ABOVE.
I lay in the chair, feeling exhausted. Went to the toilet after lunch.. Again.
Came back down feeling ever more exhausted and covered myself with a blanket.
And then slept for 2 and a half hours.
Woke just in time for Si to start the dinner, and I dosed on and off for the rest of the evening.
