And the love train rides from coast to coast
Woke up at 7 this morning, got up, made myself coffee and practise Spanish for an hour.
I'm using Duolingo - i have no idea if it's any good, but I enjoy the practise and I realise that I do understand the odd sentence here and there on TV, and when we were in Germany last year, I could read the bus stop signs and information in the hotel. So it is helping with my brain.
After stretching my brain with that, and Wordlle, and Connections, Himself appeared made lovely Scrambled Eggs, and we headed off to Halford, that we couldn't find yesterday. We went via me mam's to show her the new car, and inadvertently parked on a dead bird. Oh holy smokes, the smell was dreadful
Things bought from there, we headed to Home Bargains for some home bargains, sadly they didn't have any and we popped in to BM instead and got the kitchen rolls and the other thing that we needed, which I have forgotten now.
When we got home, I took the time to plant out my Dahlia's I got from Sarah Raven (That is an evil website if ever there was one) Dahlia's planted I started on the Seeds.
Snapdragons, Nigella, and Cosmos. I'm determined to have many, many many flowers this year.
I also found two bags of Seeds. Huge Poppy heads from last year, and Loads of Cornflower heads.
I handed them to himself and suggested he might like to rake them in under the Pear tree (which we replanted last week)
I also read up about my wisteria, and my leeks.
I have no success with leeks. Folk up at the plot come up, stick a wee scrawny thing in the ground and a month later they have a 2inch diameter 8 inch long leek pointing sraight out the ground.
This year I am determined. I have about 70 growning upstairs in the back room. I have to leave them til there are roots coming out of the bottom, and then I have to repot, and only plant in the groun when they have at least 8 inch.
The wisteria. It's already budding this year, but I fear it is only leaves. We have not been pruning. Apparently I am to prune in July/ August - take back growth to 30 cm, and then in February - chop the 30 cm back to 10 This will promote flowers.
I think there will be no flowers this year. I will not give up hope, but I'm not over confident.
Si found my garden diary during the week, so I tried to catch up on it, Apparently it's been missing since 19th November. So I had quite a lot to remember to write down.
Luckily i had kept all the seeds I had planted and taken photographs of everything, so I have dates and photos, even if I have no detail.
I spent time later, catching up on Blip. I have been remiss of late. I still have a lot of catching up to do.
And now I am just chilling, preparing myself for another week of hell.
Oh - I m eant to note. These are seeds from The Evil Sarah Raven.
These are Antirrhinum Snapdragons. I never call anything by their latin name, mostly because I am unable to pronounce them correctly. Ant-her-hin um I would call these. Someone will be able to tell me they are actually prounounced Inthirinm. Or similar.
I was confused by the seed packet - Just like regular but there was a lump inside. Opened it up - A teeny weeny pippet. Inside the pippet - these seeds. I checked the packet. 40 Seeds it said. I counted them, because I didn't think it looked like 40. Turns out i was wrong.
Confused by the packet. I was. No idea why they came like that.
