Firstly thank you everyone for your lovely comments yesterday for Dad, such wonderful support. It was a very very long day and I fell into bed at 10am after a unusually long drive home.
Dad became very muddled and confused just after I had taken his photo. We had a chat to his consultant and the next thing I knew I was being scrubbed up and taken into theatre with Dad!
The consultant in 25 years has never allowed a relative into his theatre but made an exception for Dad and thought it would be better for him to have someone he knew and recognised to help chat him through the procedure and offer comfort (we have our little way of getting dad to understand things!). Due to dad coming off the warfarin the night before, it was decided that the three areas of skin cancer that needed removing would be removed under a local with slight sedation.
Two hours later, Dad was all stitched back up and I came away with a very powerful lesson.....slap on the sun block! I found the whole procedure very interesting and everyone was very kind to Dad. The consultant afterwards said I had passed the first stage of theatre....I didn't pass out!!
Anyway, back to today - we have lovely weather and I thought it about time to overcome my issues with caterpillars so here you have Mr Cat A Pillar, a hungry little critter! Today will be spent gardening and tonight friends in the village have invited us to dinner.
P.S I hope pork is not on the menu tonight....after yesterday I am not keen!!
