Fishing in a calm sea
Its been a beautiful sunny day today. We all packed up and headed off to Tarbet for the ferry crossing to Skye. We stopped a couple of times on the way as the light was so good and the highest mountains were topped with snow. The ferry crossing was good as the sea was very calm and we were soon in Skye.
My friend and I headed to Portree where we are staying for 3 nights and then decided to drive to Loch Fada with its views to the Old Man of Storr. It was late afternoon by then and we headed to The Quiraing a spectacular area of a landslip. A lot of this area was in shadow but we did find a few spots to photograph. The sun was setting as we drove out of the Quiraing and we stopped to photograph the lovely light on the sea around Uig harbour. Skye is certainly a very different island to Lewis and Harris with more dramatic landscape.
In the evening we took a walk around the town and had a good evening meal in a local pub.
