No. 1 NBA Draft Pick

I have two friends, Gail and Tommy Griffin. Very precious people. Humble, hardworking, disciplined. Full of faith and love and character. They've raised two sons that mirror them and their hard work.

They met teaching high school in Oklahoma City Public Schools. Tommy was also a football and basketball coach.

Tonight, in Madison Square Garden in New York City, a dream came true for their youngest son, Blake, by being the no. 1 draft pick in the National Basketball Association. He was drafted by the Los Angeles Clippers. Their oldest son Taylor, an outstanding athlete, gracious and selfless is also a basketball player, waiting to be drafted as well.

In this picture with Taylor on the left, then Blake and his mom Gail, is their college basketball coach, Jeff Capel, of the University of Oklahoma.

In this day of celebrity and notoriety, it's refreshing, as well as an honor, to actually know people for a very long time, and watch how they've lived their lives of love and faith and hard work, investing themselves in their children as well as other people's children, and see them rewarded as they watch their children become young adults who are honorable and respectful, hard-working and full of character, whose dreams come true.
