Totally canoe’d
Work followed by some rushing around getting things down followed by a lake swim followed by Grow Group followed by a late night overnight guest.
Whilst I was driving to the lake, on the radio, they were talking about a German professor of English Studies (I think) who had listened to a Michael McIntyre show and started to think about a quirk of the modern English language. It was so funny. I so enjoyed my rush hour drive …
This professor said that you can more-or-less take any word, precede it with the word ‘totally’, add ‘ed’ on the end of your word and it’ll mean ‘drunk’.
People were calling in with examples. What Michael McIntyre had said was that someone was ’totally gazeboed’ and everybody had known what he meant.
It’s funny. Someone called in to say he was looking at a fruit bowl totally banana’ed or totally plum’ed or totally peared and other examples from callers kept flowing in.
So I saw all these canoes and thought ‘totally canoed’ works too.
Oh deary me. What are we like?!?!?! :-))
